Out and About|Suvlaki

Greek food has always been one of my favourite. When we used to live in Germany, our parents used to always treat us to a Gyros meal at the little Greek restaurant in Heinsberg. In fact, when we do go back to Germany now and then, we still go there! It has sort of become our little tradition.

Hence, my sister and I decided to give Suvlaki a go! Continue reading “Out and About|Suvlaki”

Top 10 Valentine’s Day Ideas for Couples

So when I tried to find some ideas on google, there were lots of ideas that you could do as a couple. But looking through the list made me think for a bit. Shouldn’t you as a couple be doing these sort of stuff more than just once a year?

Anyway, here’s my list for you couples out there!

  1. Instead of going out for dinner, why not cook for her/him something yourself? Or even better…Why not cook together? (If you do cook at home all the time… then go on…spoil yourselves and go on a romantic dinner).
  2. If you love animals, why not go to a zoo?! To check out my visit to the ZSL London Zoo, click here!
  3. Why not get away for a weekend? Doesn’t have to be anywhere expensive or cheesy like Paris. Get away to the country side or something.
  4. Do be cheesy!!! Candlelit dinner, red roses, chocolates etc etc. After all, it is Valentine’s Day!
  5. Why not build a fort together?! Bring your inner child back!
  6. Stay in and have a movie night. (Watch out for my top 10 movies to watch on Valentine’s Day!)
  7. Go on a bike ride together,
  8. and if the weather is nice, why not have a picnic as well?
  9. Go on a road-trip!
  10. Do something you normally wouldn’t do.

And that’s it!

The Cosy Club Leicester

IMG_5301.JPGSince it opened about a month ago, I really wanted to check this place out. My housemates went there before me and absolutely loved it.

After seeing what it looked like, I was really intrigued to check the place out myself.

I’ve been to the Cosy Club twice now and have enjoyed my experience both times.

The Cosy Club has a nice casual area and a restaurant area. It’s a perfect place to catch up with friends or family.

The food is great and prices are reasonable.

But what I enjoyed the most was the atmosphere. The lighting, the music and everything else just makes it a cosy place to hang out. (Oh! And I love their cute napkins!)

It is very different to the usual restaurants out there and it is definitely a place to check out.

A great new addition to Leicester!

Gelato Village

I don’t know about you, but I prefer Italian ice cream to the usual ones we get here. For many years, I’ve been complaining about how much I hate the ice creams you get here, and how I miss the ones I used to have when I went to Italy.

So anyway…This week, I decided to just walk around Leicester and ended up taking a route back home which I normally don’t use. And there it was: Gelato Village!!!

I was so happy to see it. It was freezing outside, and yet I still went in and bought a little pot of ice cream.

The prices are reasonable and the gelato tasted amazing! (I had hazelnut, chocolate and pistachio, by the way.) If you are not sure which flavour to buy, they will even let you try out the flavours first! Gelato Village is definitely a place to check out!

Don’t take my word for it. Go experience it yourself!

A day at the ZSL London Zoo

After my second year exams, I went to London for a week and spent a few days being a tourist. As an animal lover I really wanted to go to the ZSL London Zoo.

The main reason I wanted to go there, was to see the baby tigers.

So woke up early, all excited like a 6 year old, to see all the animals. And due to let’s say lack of navigation skills, I ended up arriving at the zoo later than expected.

We started off by entering Africa. And what was the first animal I had the pleasure to meet? Well… a pygmy hippo (basically just a hippo, except smaller ;) ). 10382631_254636514743241_7009698956841822876_n

Then we got to see the giraffes being fed, which was so cool.

So we continued our day, seeing more animals. Familiar ones like gorillas and lions and also ones never seen or heard before.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed the birds at the zoo as well.

But my highlight of the day was going into the Butterfly paradise. It was so beautiful. Lots of butterflies flying around. It was a colourful and a very magical experience.

I did get to see a 7 day old baby sloth!!!

My overall day at the ZSL London Zoo was better than I expected and I would so love to go there again. :D ♡
